Introduction: This board is a custom design for analyzing and monitoring industrial signals inthe range mA and +/-10V, it can handle mA feedback from different field instruments andmonitor temperature from all kinds of sensors plus more feature to simplify the developmentphase. Referring to the layout the different applications are described here.

Programming and Debugging: The board has on board JTAG interface xvds100v2 from TI which give the developer full access to the CPU for programming and debugging of C2000 DSP.

Digital Signal Processor: High-efficiency 32-bit CPU (TMS320C28x)An optimized selection of the processing chip F28069M to handle the communication andprocessing of the mentioned algorithm. The chip has 2 SPI interface (SPI-A for interfacing withthe AFE chip) and SPI-B for interfacing with another 3 analog ICs. The second interface is I2Cwhich interface with EEPROM and thermocouple transducer. The DSP has 1 CPU and another CLA (floating point processor) both can handle any floating-point computation in parallel.

The analog subsystem consists of three different application circuit:

AD4112(1): Single Supply, 24-Bit, Sigma-Delta ADC with ±10 V and 0 mA to 20 mA Inputs,Open Wire Detection.

AD74413R (1): a quad-channel software configurable input/output solution for building andprocess control applications and has user configurable modes voltage input current input voltageoutput current output digital input RTD measurement and compatible with the application ofprocess control, factory automation, motor drives and building control systems.

LTM2985(1): Isolated High Accuracy Digital Temperature Measurement System measures a widevariety of temperature sensors and digitally outputs the result, in °C or °F, with 0.1°C accuracyand 0.001°C resolution. The LTM2985 can measure the temperature of virtually all standard (TypeB, E, J, K, N, S, R, T) or custom thermocouples, automatically compensate for cold junctiontemperatures and linearize the results. The device can also measure temperature with standard 2-,3- or 4-wire RTDs, thermistors and diodes. The LTM2985 includes excitation current sourcesand fault detection circuitry appropriate for each type of temperature sensor.

MCP96L01T (2): Board Mount Temperature Sensors +/- 2.0C Thermocouple to I2C converter in5mmx5mm QFN. This device has Opens/Shorts pin detection. This device supports K, J, T, N, S,E, B, and R type thermocouples.

LEM Current transducers: Current Sensor 300mA 1 Channel Flux Gate, Closed Loop Bidirectional Module.

Memory subsystem:AT24C1024B-TH-B (2): 1 Mbit 128 k x 8 EEPROM

Note (1): SPI Interface.

Note (2):

I2C interfaceIndustrial Communication:The DSP has serial RS232 and CAN bus integrated both are routed to external communicationwith two isolated drivers:

ADM3050EBRIZ: 5.7 kV rms signal isolated CAN FD transceiver compliant with ISO 11898-2:2016- with Data rates up to 12 Mbps for CAN FD and compatible with the application ofindustrial automation process control and building control transport and infrastructure.

ISO1430DW: Compatible with TIA/EIA-485-A, PROFIBUS compatible at 5-V bus-side supplyand Low-EMI 500-kbps, 12 Mbps and 50 Mbps Data Rates. These noise-immune transceiversare designed to operate in harsh industrial environments. The driver is compatible withapplication of Grid infrastructure, Solar inverter, Factory automation & control, Motor drives,HVAC systems and building automation.

Integrated power rails: The board is biased with +12 or +15V single supply, this voltage isconditioned to +5V, +3.3 generated from highly efficient buck converter. Another -12Vdc and -5V generated from +12Vdc with High-Efficiency, Synchronous, Inverting Output DC-DCConverters.
